Sandbox (software development): Testing environment that isolates untested code changes and outright experimentation from the production environment.
Sandbox (n): a box or receptacle containing loose sand for children to play; a safe place that provides opportunities for variation and experimentation.
Sandbox (gaming): a style of game in which minimal character limitations are placed on the gamer, allowing the gamer to roam and change a virtual world at will.
A place of play, experimentation and freedom. To let go of constraints, and let the imagination roam free. Dream up what could be, what could have been, where we might go, where we are – reality just being one of the many alternatives. My sandbox is where I tinker – where I take what I observe, feel or think, and try to give them new shapes and forms.
My explorations are loosely organized around twenty-one themes. Perhaps it is apt to consider them my emergent philosophy in an increasingly tech-augmented world. They are inspired by you – by the people, questions, challenges, relationships and experiences that together, form the backdrop of my daily life.
I hope that they inspire positive thought and action. I hope that they help you orient and navigate our world with more confidence, empathy and grace.
